I will continue to fight for legislation that forces congress to read the bills! i will fight for a vote on my bill that calls for a waiting period for each page of legislation. i will continue to object when congress sticks special interest riders on bills in the dead of night! and if congress refuses to obey its own rules, if congress refuses to pass a budget, if congress refuses to read the bills, then i say: sweep the place clean. limit their terms and send them home!

Sen. robert menendez's comprehensive immigration reform act of 2010 would try to nullify every single state and local law that fights illegal immigration. congressman luis gutierrez's cir asap act with over 100 democratic co-sponsors does the same thing.

Our immigration law sucks, and we need to redo the whole thing, comprehensive immigration reform. and what that's gonna be is anybody who wants to come and vote democrat, we're gonna send 'em a limousine and bring 'em in.

I think conventional wisdom is that time is not on our side. but there are a number of members of congress who have primaries and when those primaries are done, they may be more inclined to address the issue of comprehensive immigration reform.

Barak obama said as much today talking about immigration. (imitating obama) "i don't care what happens today. it is gonna happen. we are going to have comprehensive immigration reform. we're gonna have amnesty for these 11 or 12 million. it's gonna happen. you just wait." and that's the way they go about it. defeat is not something that, in their minds, is lasting.

I thought that conclusion that we leaped to right after the election, that has been disproven statistically so many times, i don't know why republicans would advocate that advocating for comprehensive immigration reform is somehow a political solution for the republicans losing a percentage of hispanics. i probably have less appetite for this than either the senate or colleagues in the house, certainly the democrats and most likely members of the republican conference. they are still wrestling with trying to get their education up to a level where they can actually advocate for policy.
