There are plenty of teams in every sport that have great players and never win titles. most of the time, those players aren't willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the team. the funny thing is, in the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual goals more difficult to achieve. one thing i believe to the fullest is that if you think and achieve as a team, the individual accolades will take care of themselves. talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.

Perhaps the toughest call for a coach is weighing what is best for an individual against what is best for the team. keeping a player on the roster just because i liked him personally, or even because of his great contributions to the team in the past, when i felt some one else could do more for the team would be a disservice to the team's goals.

I say have the night and give people the awards, but why do people want to watch people win awards? what are they getting out of it? i don't quite get it. because they have awards all the time; there's awards for butchers, the best meat served, but they don't televise it. i don't know why they do it for films or tv programs.

Ronaldinho is better than cristiano ronaldo, but neither are as good as leo messi. he holds numerous records, such as the most goals scored in a single la liga season and the most goals scored in a calendar year. i'm more worried about being a good person than being the best football player in the world. he has everything. we must protect him.

When i was 17, i made the decision to have a good attitude. i was a junior in high school; the coach said i was going to be the captain of my basketball team. i thought – that surprised me because i wasn’t the best player. john thomas was better than me, and i was probably second or third best player. and i kept thinking, “why am i going to be the captain?” i think everybody else was thinking that too. and the coach then answered, “the reason john is going to be the captain is he has the best attitude on the team. he encourages others, he believes we can win, he never gives up.”
