Seven residential exercise centres for colleges have closed after the corporate that ran them went in administration.
The Inspiring Studying Group mentioned the centres – operated by its subsidiary Kingswood – would shut instantly, including it was “devastated”.
Three Kingswood centres have been acquired by outside training agency PGL Past (PGL) and can keep open. They’re Overstrand Corridor in Cromer, Norfolk, Dearne Valley in Doncaster and Grosvenor Corridor in Ashford, Kent.
PGL mentioned: “It will make sure that the the deliberate residentials for over 50,000 younger folks in 2025 will go forward.”
The Kingswood centres closing instantly are:
- West Runton, Norfolk
- Inexperienced Park, Buckinghamshire
- Dukeswood Home, Northumberland
- Peak Enterprise, South Yorkshire
- Staffordshire, close to Wolverhampton
- Ryde, Isle of Wight
- Colomendy, north Wales
In an announcement, Kingswood mentioned: “We’re very sorry to let you understand that we’ve got gone into administration.
“Sadly, seven of our centres will now shut, and any deliberate journeys to those won’t be fulfilled by Kingswood.”
It added: “We respect that this information will likely be troublesome to soak up…”
Kingswood mentioned PGL had agreed a take care of directors “to supply a bundle of help to teams the place centres are closing, by providing different preparations at PGL centres, with no monetary affect to oldsters”.
PGL mentioned its acquisition of the three centres had secured 150 jobs.
