The White Home has stated a risk by TikTok to close down within the US on Sunday until tech companies get assurances they won’t be punished for violating a legislation that bans the app is a “stunt”.
Late on Friday, the social media platform stated it wanted a dedication from the outgoing Biden administration that firms similar to Apple and Google is not going to face prosecution for ignoring the looming ban.
“It’s a stunt, and we see no purpose for TikTok or different firms to take actions within the subsequent few days earlier than the Trump administration takes workplace on Monday,” stated White Home press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
