Labour pledges ‘swift determination’ on lifting Syrian group ban | Information


The UK Authorities will make a swift determination on whether or not to raise the ban on Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) after it ousted president Bashar Assad’s regime, Labour’s Pat McFadden has stated.

HTS is banned within the UK due to its previous affiliation with al Qaida, the terrorist organisation as soon as led by Osama bin Laden.

Chatting with Mishal Husain on BBC Radio 4 on Monday (9 December), the cupboard minister stated “The state of affairs could be very fluid” however hoped if there was a necessity to carry talks with HTS “it must be a comparatively swift determination”.
