We are all engaged in the task of peeling off the false selves, the programmed selves, the selves created by our families, our culture, our religions. it is an enormous task because the history of women has been as incompletely told as the history of blacks.

Suppose you stand on a high place to enjoy the beauty of the sparkling sea below. you need do nothing to create that beauty; you need only be in the same place where it is, and let nature do the rest. so it is with the inner life. there is nothing we can do to gain psychic beauty. it already exists without our effort. we need only be where we belong, that is, in self-union. then, beauty is.

The only thing that really matters is that there be an action of goodness, love and intelligence in living. is goodness individual or collective, is love personal or impersonal, is intelligence yours, mine or somebody else? if it is yours or mine then it is not intelligence, or love, or goodness. if goodness is an affair of the individual or of the collective, according to one's particular preference or decision, then it is no longer goodness.

Acceptance is appreciation, and the high value of appreciation is such that to appreciate appreciation seems to be the fundamental prerequisite for survival. mankind will not die for lack of information; it may perish for lack of appreciation.
