Some of you may feel that you are not as attractive and beautiful and glamorous as you would like to be. rise above any such feelings, cultivate the light you have within you, and it will shine through as a radiant expression that will be seen by others. you need never feel inferior. you need never feel that you were born without talents or without opportunities to give them expression. cultivate whatever talents you have, and they will grow anв refine and become an expression of your true self appreciated by others.

What makes me feel alive is community, connectedness. certainly family, parenting, relationships, friendship. all the way into colleague relationships and relationship with spirit, relationship with one's own self and inner child, and animals, earth, planet. fostering and nurturing and really focusing on connection - connection in relationship with other and my own self and god. when i don't feel connected in all those three areas, life is not very good.

I've learned to be more reserved, watch what i'm saying; i got in a little bit of trouble. people tell me 'never lose that, never lose that,' but then i get in trouble so i have to lose it. i'm trying to keep a little bit; i'm never going to lose who i am, i just gotta tone it down a little bit.

Speaking of love, one problem that recurs more and more frequently these days, in books and plays and movies, is the inability of people to communicate with the people they love: husbands and wives who can't communicate, children who can't communicate with their parents, and so on. and the characters in these books and plays and so on, and in real life, i might add, spend hours bemoaning the fact that they can't communicate. i feel that if a person can't communicate, the very least he can do is to shut up!

The question "is this an act of self-love or is it an act of self-sabotage?" is one you must consistently ask yourself if you are committed to having all that you want and all that you deserve. when you love yourself you feel worthy and deserving of claiming the gifts of this world. self-love gives you peace of mind and balance. self-love gives you self-respect and the ability to respect others. it gives you the confidence to stand up and ask for what you want. self-love is the main ingredient in a successful, fulfilled life.

You can't kill love. you can't even kill it with hate. you can kill in-love, and loving, and even loveliness. you can kill them all, or numb them into dense, leaden regret, but you can't kill love itself. love is the passionate search for a truth other than your own; and once you feel it, honestly and completely, love is forever. every act of love, every moment of the heart reaching out, is a part of the universal good: it's a part of god, or what we call god, and it can never die.
