Confidence is not lodged in people's brains, it comes from the support system that surrounds them. let's not confuse confidence overall with just self-confidence. self-confidence is only one part of confidence. people also need confidence in others - their colleagues and leaders - that they can count on them to do the right thing and not to let them down.

I never minded giving my opinions. they are just opinions, and i had studied music and i had strong feelings. i was happy for my opinions to join all the other opinions. but you have to be prepared for what comes back, especially if you don't agree with the dominant mythology.

One of the first things i think young people, especially nowadays, should learn is how to see for yourself and listen for yourself and think for yourself. then you can come to an intelligent decision for yourself. if you form the habit of going by what you hear others say about someone, or going by what others think about someone, instead of searching that thing out for yourself and seeing for yourself, you will be walking west when you think you're going east, and you will be walking east when you think you're going west.

The question "is this an act of self-love or is it an act of self-sabotage?" is one you must consistently ask yourself if you are committed to having all that you want and all that you deserve. when you love yourself you feel worthy and deserving of claiming the gifts of this world. self-love gives you peace of mind and balance. self-love gives you self-respect and the ability to respect others. it gives you the confidence to stand up and ask for what you want. self-love is the main ingredient in a successful, fulfilled life.

Self-esteem is reliance on one's power to think. it cannot be replaced by one's power to deceive. the self-confidence of a scientist and the self-confidence of a con man are not interchangeable states, and do not come from the same psychological universe. the success of a man who deals with reality augments his self-confidence. the success of a con man augments his panic.

I feel very confident with the way i look. but i felt just as confident the way i looked before. i've always been confident with who i am.
