The progressive artist, who studied underneath James McNeill Whistler and have become most well-known for his intimate home portraits, interiors, theatrical and circus scenes, made a major departure right here, along with his work ‘The Hanging Gardens’, painted within the studio between 1924 and 1926, depicting a view of the again backyard of this property and reflecting the inexperienced tree-lined canal behind.
