A former soccer supervisor has been handed a suspended jail sentence after a linesman was punched throughout a match on Anglesey.
The assault took place in April 2024 throughout Penrhyndeudraeth FC’s 8-0 win at Amlwch City FC.
Amlwch’s then-manager, Robert Williams-Jones, pleaded responsible to assault occasioning precise bodily hurt throughout the North Wales Coast West Premier League match.
Showing at Caernarfon Magistrates Court docket on Monday, Williams-Jones, 43, of Eilian, Llaneilian, close to Amlwch, was sentenced to 24 weeks in jail suspended for 12 months.
He may even have to hold out 150 hours of unpaid work and pay £1,000 in compensation.
Shortly after the match Amlwch City FC confirmed it had minimize ties with Williams-Jones, apologising to each Penrhyndeudraeth and the linesman.
