North Yorkshire Fireplace and Rescue Service stated it was referred to as to a house in Acomb at 12.09pm at present (December 15).

A service spokesperson stated: “A hazardous supplies professional officer attended a residence to cope with a barometer, containing mercury that had damaged in a bed room.

“The officer safely cleared up the spilt mercury utilizing specialist package.

“Recommendation was given to residents.”
