A ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas has been introduced by Qatar Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani .
Israel and Hamas have held on-off oblique talks for a ceasefire and hostage-prisoner alternate for the reason that first ceasefire ended on 1 December 2023.
Hamas launched an unprecedented assault on southern Israel on 7 October 2023, killing about 1,200 individuals and taking 251 again to Gaza as hostages.
The assault triggered a large Israeli offensive on Gaza, throughout which at the least 46,000 Palestinians have been killed, in response to the Hamas-run well being ministry.
