Protection zone in place after bird flu outbreak

A safety zone has been arrange following an outbreak of chicken flu in Angus.

Extremely pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), also referred to as H5N1 was reported at Over Ascreavie Home, Kingoldrum within the Kirriemuir space.

Chief veterinary officer Sheila Voas introduced the report on Friday evening.

A 3km safety zone and a 10km surveillance zone across the web site have been put in place.
