Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is adding Steve from Minecraft as downloadable fighter

Minecraft’s Steve is coming to the Smash Bros. roster.


The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster is increasing as soon as once more, as Steve joins the battle. Nintendo introduced the Minecraft star because the eighth downloadable fighter in a YouTube reveal on Thursday. Alex, Enderman, and Zombie shall be obtainable as alternate skins, and so they’ll include a brand new stage and 7 music tracks from the Microsoft-owned world-building collection.

Producer Masahiro Sakurai stated Minecraft characters’ launch date and their combating kinds shall be revealed in a follow-up stream this Saturday at 7:30 a.m. PT (10:30 a.m. ET/3:30 p.m. BST/12:30 a.m. Sunday AEST).

Steve is the second fighter within the $30 Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighters Pass Vol. 2, after Arms alumni Min Min was announced back in June (that was FOUR months in the past, what the…?). The cross is ready to incorporate six new fighters, and Nintendo stated they’re going to be obtainable by the top of 2021.

The earlier $25 Fighter Pass included Persona 5’s Joker, Dragon Quest 11’s Hero, Banjo-Kazooie (guh-huh!), Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. They every got here with a brand new stage and music.
