The main thing is to study pictures and stop listening to the pontifictaions of photographers. photographers aren't oracles of wisdom. if they're good photographers, then take a good look at their pictures - what else do you need?

As photographers, we must learn to relax our beliefs. move on objects with your eye straight on, to the left, around on the right. watch them grow large as they approach, group and regroup as you shift your position. relationships gradually emerge and sometimes assert themselves with finality. and that's your picture.

If we, who live outside asylums, act as if we lived in a fictitious world- that is to say, if we are consistent with our beliefs- we cannot adjust ourselves to actual conditions, and so fall into many avoidable semantic difficulties. but the so-called normal person practically never abides by his beliefs, and when his beliefs are building for him a fictitious world, he saves his neck by not abiding by them. a so-called "insane" person acts upon his beliefs, and so cannot adjust himself to a world which is quite different from his fancy.

Realize that your physical experience and environment is the materialization of your beliefs. if you find great exuberance, health, effective work, abundance, smiles on the faces of those who you meet, then take it for granted that your beliefs are beneficial. if you see a world that is good, people like you, take it for granted again, that your beliefs are beneficial. but if you find poor health, a lack of meaningful work, a lack of abundance, a world of sorrow and evil, then assume your beliefs are faulty and begin examining them.

One believes things because one has been conditioned to believe them. finding bad reasons for what one believes for other bad reasons-that's philosophy. people believe in god because they've been conditioned to believe in god.

Every decision in your life is controlled by your beliefs and values. you may not realize it, but you have the power to choose what you believe about your life, people, money and health. you can either choose beliefs that limit you, or beliefs that empower you to move toward success. your beliefs energize you to create the world you want to live in right now. the key is to be aware of them because what you value determines what you focus on.
