Sometimes we feel that one individual's action is very insignificant. then we think, of course, that effects should come from channeling or from a unifying movement. but the movement of the society, community or group of people means joining individuals. society means a collection of individuals, so that initiative must come from individuals. unless each individual develops a sense of responsibility, the whole community cannot move. so therefore, it is very essential that we should not feel that individual effort is meaningless- you should not feel that way. we should make an effort.

There must be progress, certainly. but we must ask ourselves what kind of progress we want, and what price we want to pay for it. if, in the name of progress, we want to destroy everything beautiful in our world, and contaminate the air we breathe, and the water we drink, then we are in trouble.

I always try to remember that i am a work in progress. it is life's journey that matters and the turns i take will determine how much progress i make. you see, i am unique in my gifts and the purpose i was created for. when i get to heaven at the end of my journey, i will not be asked what gifts he gave me, but what i did with them. each one of us is a work in progress, with a mission and purpose to fulfill that is uniquely ours. keep that in mind as you journey, won't you?
