I have done scenes as harvey two-face. it's interesting. i won't tell you exactly what we're going for, but i think that i can say that it will use all of today's technology to create this character. he's going to be interesting, and i think that's what makes this character important in the movie-you get to see him as he was before, as in the comic books. harvey is a very good guy in the comic books. he's judicious. he cares. he's passionate about what he loves and then he turns into this character. so you will see that in this film.

I had to audition for fandango. when i read the script, the role that was interesting - so everyone thought - was the role that costner played. he was the cool guy. and i read the script, and my representation at the time said, "that's the role you should read for." and i was like, "really? how about i read for this other role." and they went, "well, you're not going to get that role."

I seem to have been cast several several times to do it. i think in this one, phoenix is not purely evil. she was in the comic books at some point but the way the writers created her or we always talked about her, was that she was torn with her powers taking over and trying to control them at the same time. it was challenging to play which made it interesting for me to play this character.

Almost any tale of our doings is comic. we are bottomlessly comic to each other. even the most adored and beloved person is comic to his lover. the novel is a comic form. language is a comic form, and makes jokes in its sleep. god, if he existed, would laugh at his creation. yet it is also the case that life is horrible, without metaphysical sense, wrecked by chance, pain and the close prospect of death. out of this is born irony, our dangerous and necessary tool.

We see only the script and not the paper on which the script is written. the paper is there, whether the script is on it or not. to those who look upon the script as real, you have to say that it is unreal - an illusion - since it rests upon the paper. the wise person looks upon both paper and script as one.

To him she seemed so beautiful, so seductive, so different from ordinary people, that he could not understand why no one was as disturbed as he by the clicking of her heels on the paving stones, why no one else's heart was wild with the breeze stirred by the sighs of her veils, why everyone did not go mad with the movements of her braid, the flight of her hands, the gold of her laughter. he had not missed a single one of her gestures, not one of the indications of her character, but he did not dare approach her for fear of destroying the spell.
