It is the system itself that, that is incapable of producing freedom for the twenty-two million afro-americans. just like a chicken can't lay a duck egg, a chicken can't lay a duck egg, because the system of the chicken isn't constructed in the way to produce a duck egg. and just as that chicken system can't produce, is not capable to, of producing a duck egg, the political and economic system of this country is absolutely incapable of producing freedom and justice and equality and human dignity for the twenty-two million afro-americans.

We can work on inner peace and world peace at the same time. on one hand, people have found inner peace by losing themselves in a cause larger than themselves, like the cause of world peace, because finding inner peace means coming from the self-centered life into the life centered in the good of the whole. on the other hand, one of the ways of working for world peace is to work for more inner peace, because world peace will never be stable until enough of us find inner peace to stabilize it.

People who read me seem to be divided into four groups: twenty-five percent like me for the right reasons; twenty-five percent like me for the wrong reasons; twenty-five percent hate me for the wrong reasons; twenty-five percent hate me for the right reasons. it's that last twenty-five percent that worries me.
Hate People Worry
The black public sector middle class teachers, policeman, firemen, and post office workers, those jobs have been on the decline but there hasn't been a corresponding increase in the private sector. what is especially painful is government policy bailed out the banks without making them make reinvestments for rebuilding. the result is 53-million americans are food insecure, 50-million americans are in poverty, 44 million are on food stamps, 26 million are looking for a job.
