This is a devastating problem, is, the longer our children are in school, the worse they do. year after year after year, our children in america are falling further behind. our 3- and 4-year-olds enter kindergarten ok, and they fall further and further behind. each year, children in other countries are learning more than children in this country. and so the gap between american student performance in singapore and finland and south korea and canada and these other countries, the gap widens year after year after year.

Success is how you collect your minutes. you spend millions of minutes to reach one triumph, one moment, then you spend maybe a thousand minutes enjoying it. if you were unhappy through those millions of minutes, what good is the thousand minutes of triumph? it doesn't equate... life is made of small pleasures. good eye contact over the breakfast table with your wife. a moment of touching a friend. happiness is made of those tiny successes. the big ones come too infrequently. if you don't have all those zillions of tiny successes, the big ones don't mean anything.

I take 10 minutes. i focus on what i'm most grateful for. then i do a little prayer for three minutes, a blessing within myself through god, and then out to my family and friends and all those i serve. then my last three minutes are the three things i want to achieve most. at the end of 10 minutes, you are wired. everything in your life gets filtered through that.
