I'm even stunned at some of the majors you can get in college these days. like you can major in the mating habits of the australian rabbit bat, major in leisure studies... okay, get a journalism major. okay, education major, journalism major. right. philosophy major, right. archeology major. i don't know, whatever it is. major in ballroom dance, of course. it doesn't replace work. how about a major in film studies? how about a major in black studies? how about a major in women studies? how about a major in home ec? oops, sorry! no such thing.

It is so important to remember that, as we travel through life, there will be so many events which we can`t control. these are things that seemingly alter our lives forever or become barriers for living a life of fulfillment. it`s important to remember that the ultimate experience of life is not to be controlled by events. we all have difficult events in our lives - the loss of family members, economics, stress, litigation, government interference in our businesses, health challenges. remember that it is not the events that shape our lives, but, rather, the meaning we attach to them.

The smallest decisions made had such profound repercussions. one ten-minute wait could save a life… or end it… one wrong turn down the right street or one seemingly unimportant conversation, and everything was changed. it wasn’t right that each lifetime was defined, ruined, ended, and made by such seemingly innocuous details. a major life-threatening event should come with a flashing warning sign that either said abandon all hope or safety ahead. it was the cruelest joke of all that no one could see the most vicious curves until they were over the edge, falling into the abyss below.
