If you want to get something done, there is always an alternate route other than cursing somebody and belittling them. there's always an alternate route. if you want to get any message across. everybody has an opinion, and everybody has their own way of doing things, but the bottom line is that when you affect someone else, you should pay closer attention to how you treat people.

Do we need to make a special effort to enjoy the beauty of the blue sky? do we have to practice to be able to enjoy it? no, we just enjoy it. each second, each minute of our lives can be like this. wherever we are, any time, we have the capacity to enjoy the sunshine, the presence of each other, even the sensation of our breathing. we don't need to go to china to enjoy the blue sky. we don't have to travel into the future to enjoy our breathing. we can be in touch with these things right now.

Theologians talk about a prevenient grace that precedes grace itself and allows us to accept it. i think there must also be a prevenient courage that allows us to be brave - that is, to acknowledge that there is more beauty than our eyes can bear, that precious things have been put into our hands and to do nothing to honor them is to do great harm. and therefore, this courage allows us, as the old men said, to make ourselves useful. it allows us to be generous, which is another way of saying exactly the same thing.
