What i see is trying to make sure that everybody thinks you have more than what you actually have. what’s the point if you actually don’t have it? if you don’t have it, then you don’t have it. have what you have. enjoy that . . . the craft is everything. don’t be afraid of not being the wealthiest person in the room. be the smartest person in the room. be the slickest person in the room. be the most creative person in the room. be the most entertaining person in the room. just be in the room.

By every measure, john kennedy's sex life was compulsive and reckless. at one level, it had clear public consequences. knowledge of kennedy's behavior gave fbi director j. edgar hoover absolute job security, as well as the potential power to derail kennedy's re-election had he survived assassination.

One of the things that you come pretty early on to understand in this job, and you start figuring out even during the course of the campaign, is that there's barack obama the person and there's barack obama the symbol, or the office holder, or what people are seeing on television, or just a representative of power. and so when people criticize or respond negatively to me, usually they're responding to this character that they're seeing on tv called barack obama, or to the office of the presidency and the white house and what that represents.

There is parallels these two great men john mccain and ted kennedy of great impact in the senate, you don`t agree with everything they did but certainly they had major impacts as senators. their one major political failure not to be elected president but that didn`t stop them from having enormous impact and at roughly the same age, exactly the same disease. it`s kind of a poignant sad parallel.

A lot of people have done things over the years and made fun of people in one way or another. when i was a kid, vaughn meader used to do john f. kennedy. i don't know if that makes john f. kennedy less credible. he would do the voice, he'd have some silly situations or whatever. i don't know if it made him less presidential because of it.

Sports is a perfect activity in which to see streaks and cycles, organizational and otherwise, in action - and to watch confidence build or erode. there are repeated episodes of performance with similar rules and clear winners or losers. i added team sports to my studies of business because there are excellent parallels to work groups in the performance of sports teams and also excellent parallels to larger, more complex businesses or organizations in the strategy, structure, and culture surrounding any particular team.
