The new bond film, will be a big, big hit, because every bond film is an event. fathers take their sons to it; probably grandfathers. it's been a long time, and i think that the success of bond is because the audiences have never been cheated by the producers. they always spend every penny, put it on the screen, and then the things that people expect to see in a bond film - big action scenes, glamorous ladies - it's pure escapism.

If the nation can issue a dollar bond it can issue a dollar bill. the element that makes the bond good makes the bill good also. the difference between the bond and the bill is that the bond lets the money broker collect twice the amount of the bond and an additional 20%. whereas the currency, the honest sort provided by the constitution pays nobody but those who contribute in some useful way. it is absurd to say our country can issue bonds and cannot issue currency. both are promises to pay, but one fattens the usurer and the other helps the people.

I love movies; i grew up loving movies. i've always loved movies. i never thought about making movies until i took art classes and then i started studying different artists. as you study paintings, you see light and shadow, of course - rembrandt, eugène delacroix. you start to understand the relationship between people and art, and images. for me, between movies that i watched and art, it was like, i'd love to make moving art. moving pictures.

I grew up loving action movies and films that were set in supernatural, unimaginable places. so i take being a woman in the film industry who is able to do action movies very seriously because i'm making the kind of movies that i wanted to watch as i was a kid and that inspired me and are the reason as to why i am here.

When i wrote the first [bond novel] in 1953, i wanted bond to be an extremely dull, uninteresting man to whom things happened... when i was casting around for a name for my protagonist i thought by god, [james bond] is the dullest name i ever heard.
