All good things require effort. that which is worth having will cost part of your physical being, your intellectual power, and your soul power—‘ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.’ (matt. 7:7.) but you have to seek, you have to knock. on the other hand, sin thrusts itself upon you. it walks beside you, it tempts you, it entices, it allures. you do not have to put forth effort. … evil seeks you, and it requires effort and fortitude to combat it. but truth and wisdom are gained only by seeking, by prayer, and by effort.

I dare say, ladies and gentlemen, it's even worse in some people, it's worse than the mistake they make in just assuming that there is the world and everything in it, and then there's america. and this one special place just happened. no thought's given to how. no thought's given to replicating it, even. no, that's where it gets even worse. where it gets even worse is that some of those who look at the united states for what it is, special, no place like it on earth. want to tear it down for that specific reason just because it's unfair.

I certainly don't feel there's a distinction to be made between a television and a film actor. i think there's a distinction between great actors and not so great actors. but i really think if you watch a person working in television give a wonderful performance, that person is f - ing great, because there is no time.

Wins and losses come a dime a dozen. but effort? nobody can judge effort. effort is between you and you. effort ain't got nothing to do with nobody else.

There can be in the eyes of god no distinction between man and man, even as there is no distinction between animal and animal.

Now i wonder what our knowledge has in common with god's knowledge according to those who treat god's knowledge... is there anything else common to both besides the mere name? ...there is an essential distinction between his knowledge and ours, like the distinction between the substance of the heavens and that of the earth.
