Fear keeps us rooted in the past. fear of the unknown, fear of abandonment, fear of rejection, fear of not having enough, fear of not being enough, fear of the future-all these fears and more keep us trapped, repeating the same old patterns and making the same choices over and over again. fear prevents us from moving outside the comfort-or even the familiar discomfort-of what we know. it's nearly impossible to achieve our highest vision for our lives as long as we are being guided by our fears.
Fear Moving Past
When god gives you a door, if you want access, you go through that door. people didn't like jesus. oh, they had all kind of reasons to hate him but jesus said, "i am the door. any man who enters must come by me. if you don't come by me," he said, "you're a thief and a robber." well, if omarosa manigault is the door to donald trump, well i kind of like that door. that's a pretty door. that's an intelligent door. that's a spiritually rooted door.

We fear the past, present and future. we fear the unknown, we fear not having enough, losing what we have, not having what we want. we fear what will become of us and those that we care for. we fear what others think of us and what they don't think of us. we fear, fear, fear and therefore we are controllable through the manipulation of all that we fear. the present war on terror is the war of fear. no fear, no control.

Fear is at the root of so many of the barriers that women face. fear of not being liked. fear of making the wrong choice. fear of drawing negative attention. fear of overreaching. fear of being judged. fear of failure. and the holy trinity of fear: the fear of being a bad mother/wife/daughter.

Suppose you're on a game show, and you're given the choice of three doors. behind one door is a car, the others, goats. you pick a door, say #1, and the host, who knows what's behind the doors, opens another door, say #3, which has a goat. he says to you: 'do you want to pick door #2?' is it to your advantage to switch your choice of doors?

You may not realize initially how many other opportunities are wrapped up inside the first one. after you go through the first door, you'll then discover more doors automatically opening behind that one. one door leads you to another door, which leads to another door, and so one. it's like ten other boxes packed inside one box. the initial door that god opens is your access to more opportunities. but you must be willing to walk through the first one to get to the other good things god has for you.
