Pinterest on Monday appointed Andrea Wishom, president at Skywalker Holdings and former govt at Harpo Productions, to its board of administrators. Her appointment comes as Pinterest faces allegations of racial and gender discrimination

Wishom is the lifestyle-focused social community’s first Black board member and third female board member. She stated in a launch she’s all in favour of CEO Ben Silbermann’s “imaginative and prescient of getting a brand new sort of dialog between staff and the board,” including that she’s dedicated to “listening and sharing my perspective and offering steerage as Pinterest continues to make optimistic strides ahead.”

Pinterest staff final week deliberate a digital walkout following accusations of gender discrimination and retaliation introduced by former COO Francoise Brougher. In a lawsuit filed Aug. 11, Brougher stated rampant discrimination and misogyny permeates Pinterest.

In June, two former Pinterest staff, each black girls, stated they experienced racial discrimination and faced retaliation after elevating considerations about unfair pay within the office.
